The first ever National Cheerleading competition was held in DeKalb County, GA. Cheerleading today has blossomed into a phenomenon involving more than 3.4 million people in the United States alone, and at least six million cheerleaders world-wide representing thirty-eight countries. Participation in cheerleading provides kids an opportunity to perform in an organized, supervised, safety-oriented environment. Children are separated by age and skill, with ages ranging from 4-14. This is recreation cheerleading ONLY.

The cheer season begins with practice at the beginning of July and consists of a pre-season jamboree, a 11 game schedule, then concludes with conference playoffs and conference cheer competition. The conference cheer competition is typically held the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.
